Racy streamer banned again over backlash after going ‘topless’ on Twitch

2 min read

A racy Twitch streamer has been banned from the platform yet again after going "topless" while live on the streaming site.

Content creator Morgpie was blacklisted from Twitch after taking part in a controversial new "meta", which sees livestreamers bend the rules of Twitch's community safety.

For Morgpie, real name Morgan Stone, it meant taking part in a "topless meta", with the trend sweeping through the site. Her risky stream has not gone unnoticed by Twitch staff though, who have banned her account.

Though a category for the more risqué "meta" streams has been created, which includes "Pools, Hot Tubs & Beaches", it would appear the recent trend, popularised by Morgpie, has landed the content creator in a heap of trouble.

A trend of Twitch streamers wearing attire which makes their camera cut off to appear "topless" has made waves on the platform, but has led to the banning of the very person who started the trend.

Twitch, which does not comment on individual bans, confirmed Morgpie was removed from their platform. A statement from the streaming service is now listed on her channels confirming the "violation" of the rules.

It reads: "This channel is currently unavailable due to a violation of Twitch’s Community Guidelines or Terms of Service." Reactions from fellow streamers to the video, reported by Dexerto, showed the genuine shock on the face of one man who asked "what is happening?".

Guidelines made clear by Twitch indicate nudity is prohibited unless the streamer is "actively breastfeeding a child." The length of Morgpie's ban is currently unknown.

The streamer has since called out the streaming platform on X, formerly Twitter, saying they would be donating the money made on their controversial stream.

Morgpie wrote: "@Twitch @TwitchSupport please let me know how much total $ was generated during my last stream! Total including ad revenue, I was going to donate to DWB."
