One woman found “millions” of bugs living inside her Christmas tree, and she posted all about her experience on TikTok.

Andrea, who posted the video, captioned her TikTok: “The time our tree hatched a million friends.”

She included a slideshow of photos of what appears to be mantises crawling all over her tree.

The video has gone viral with over seven million views, and people in the comments shared their thoughts.

One user commented: “The fresh pine smell ain’t worth this.”

However, mantises are not the worst-case scenario when it comes to critters in your home.

One commenter said that “they will exterminate all other bugs in your house and then each other.”

Some people even said they’ve found spiders and bats in their Christmas trees, which could be far worse.

There is always a risk of finding bugs in your tree’s branches if you get it from the woods or tree farms.

But there are some precautions you can take to avoid bringing insects in your home, including inspecting a tree for critters or egg sacs before you cut it down.

While sacs look different depending on the species, mantis eggs are often light brown.

You can also shake out your tree before bringing it inside to remove loose pests.
