The Met Office has issued an urgent 36-hour weather warning for parts of Britain with a risk of power cuts and floods. A wall of rain is due to hit from Saturday afternoon, with a yellow weather alert in place from 6pm.<\/p>\n
The forecaster has warned this will continue until 11.59pm on Sunday, as hellish storms will be unleashed on north western Scotland.<\/p>\n
Traffic disruption is also to be expected as “spray and flooding\u00a0is likely” to lead to a number of road closures.<\/p>\n
The Met Office warning said “flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely” with “a small chance that some communities will become cut off by flooded roads”.<\/p>\n
Flooding could also cause delays, disruption and cancellations on public transport.<\/p>\n
