Denver weather: Another warm day with chances of afternoon storms

1 min read

Another warm sunny day is on tap for the metro area Friday, with temperatures that are starting to feel familiar to most of us: 94 is the forecasted high.

But more so than on Thursday, showers and thunderstorms could sneak into the picture, particularly after the noon hour. The chance for precipitation on Friday is 40% with top wind gusts as high as 22 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

The chances for unsteady weather will extend into the evening, with forecasters calling for a 30% possibility of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 10 p.m. Nighttime temperatures will dip to a pleasant 65, as skies gradually clear.

The National Weather Service warns that some storm activity Friday could yield “brief heavy rain and gusty winds.” Heat lovers should travel in a Kansas direction — temperatures on the eastern plains could reach triple digits.

Saturday looks like a slightly drier repeat of Friday, with a mostly sunny day shaping up and the high temperature once again at 94 degrees. There exists a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
