WWE legend Tammy “Sunny” Sytch could be set for a 25-year stint in prison after pleading “no contest” to a charge of causing death while driving under the influence of alcohol.

Sytch, 50, appear in court yesterday (August 16) after it was alleged she killed a man after being involved in a drunken car crash earlier this year.

She had initially pleaded not guilty, but changed the plea this week, just a few days before the case was supposed to go to trial.

As well as the drunk driving charge, she also pleaded no contest to one count of driving with a suspended licence causing death, and four counts of DUI with damage to a person and two counts of DUI with damage to property.

The maximum charge she faces is 25 years – no date has yet been given for the sentencing.

The incident leading to the charges took place in Ormond Beach, Florida, United States.

She was found to have been three-and-a-half times over the legal alcohol limit – tests showed she had a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher – but coughed up the $227,500 (£185,800) bond fee which saw her released from custody.

The victim, Julian Lasseter, was in his 2013 Kia Sorento when Sytch's 2012 Mercedes collided with it from behind, sending both of them to hospital, police said.

Lasseter tragically died that same day.

She had initially been allowed out on bail, but was later put back in after prosecutors deemed her to be a “danger to the community”.

She has previously been arrested six times for driving while drunk, and was also jailed in 2022 for threatening to kill an “intimate partner” with a pair of scissors.

There have been calls from ex-WWE employees to have her removed from the WWE Hall of Fame, an honour she was given in 2011, but WWE has not commented on the case so far.
