Royal fans are now scrambling to get their hands on freshly-minted currency with King Charles' face on.
New coins came into circulation yesterday (Thursday, August 10) to celebrate the coronation of the new monarch after he ascended the throne back in May of this year.
Five million coins, designed by the Royal Mint's Natasha Jenkins, have been distributed to UK bank branches and the Post following the release.

Rebecca Morgan, director of commemorative coin at the Royal Mint, said yesterday: "We are delighted to announce that five million 50p coins produced to mark His Majesty King Charles III's coronation will enter circulation from today.
"This is a special moment for the nation, as members of the public will have the opportunity to find a piece of history in their change. We anticipate the coronation 50p coins will be highly sought after among coin collectors and members of the public keen to own a piece of British history.
"The Royal Mint has had the honour of striking coins for every British monarch since Alfred the Great and we are proud to continue that long history with the introduction of His Majesty’s official coinage."

This is the second commemorative coin released since Charles came to power.
The coin features the King's official coin portrait, designed by sculptor Martin Jennings and unveiled in September 2022.
But this time he will appear without a crown in a change from the 50p pieces released earlier this year.
The tails side of the coin features Westminster Abbey on the tails design and the King's official cypher at the centre.
Earlier this year, the Royal Mint released a commemorative coin range marking the King's historic coronation.
The coin-maker sold the pieces directly to collectors from 89 countries across the globe.
UK coins featuring images of the late Queen are still legal tender and in active circulation.
