A spokesperson for the force told CornwallLive: "A man in his 40s from Redruth and a man in his 30s from Camborne have both been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

"Both remain in police custody and await questioning. Police continue to appeal for information which may assist our enquiries, including dash-cam and CCTV footage in the area."

"It was reported that two men within a property had sustained injuries – both have been taken to hospital.

"One man has sustained a suspected gunshot wound to the back which is currently being treated as life-threatening.

"A second man was reported to have been assaulted with an axe and sustained a serious head injury.”
