‘World’s Strongest Boy’ Little Hercules was to be ‘hip-hop Karate Kid’ film star2 min read
The pint-sized bodybuilder dubbed Little Hercules planned to become a movie star "kind of like The Karate Kid with some hip-hop".
Richard Sandrak, now in his 30s, shot to international fame as a child in 2005 as he boasted the physique of a professional athlete.
He was crowned the World's Strongest Boy aged just eight, maintaining his muscles with an intense gym routine.

After gaining notoriety, Richard had other dreams beyond simply becoming a champion bodybuilder.
In 2009 he actually starred in a film, aptly named Little Hercules in 3D, alongside an unlikely cast that saw Hulk Hogan as Zeus, Elliot Gould as Socrates and The Big Show (Paul Wight) as Marduk.
The IMDb plot summary reads: "Little Hercules goes to Earth to experience life as a real boy, leaving Mt. Olympus for Burbank, where his time-leaping sparks a chain of culture-clashing misadventures."
Those who fancy watching it perhaps might not want to bother seeing as Little Hercules in 3D only scores 2.1/10 on the movie review site.
At one point Richard was working on a second movie, although it never came to fruition.
It was the brainchild of Richard's manager turned film producer Marco Garcia, who described it as "kind of like The Karate Kid with some hip-hop" when speaking to The Guardian in 2007. The working title was Fancy Moves.
Richard said at the time: "For now I just want to go out and make more movies."
He would go on to appear on the big screen again with the release of The Legend of Nethiah in 2012, in which he played a younger version of the title character.
It scores a 3.9/10 rating on IMDb – a marked improvement on his first effort.
He was also the subject of a documentary, The World's Strongest Boy, and went on to make a handful of TV appearances. He even appeared on his Little Hercules in 3D co-star's series Hogan Knows Best.
Richard reportedly then went on to work as a stuntman at Universal Studios in Hollywood.
