Prince Harry slams Camilla branding her ‘a villain’ and ‘dangerous’ in interview

3 min read

Prince Harry called the Queen Consort Camilla "dangerous" for her methods on attempting to rehabilitate her image before marrying King Charles III.

Speaking to Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes, the Duke of Sussex said his stepmother's attempts on cultivating relationship with the media resulted in "bodies left in the street".

He told the journalist: "There was open willingness on both sides to trade of information.

"And with a family built on hierarchy, and with her, on the way to being Queen consort, there was gonna be people or bodies left in the street because of that."

Camilla's affair with Charles during his marriage to Diana left her in a spot that wasn't particularly loved by the public as Harry implies her relationships with the press came out of a need to be publicly accepted.

"If you are led to believe, as a member of the family, that being on the front page, having positive headlines, positive stories written about you, is going to improve your reputation or increase the chances of you being accepted as monarch by the British public, then that's what you're gonna do," he added.

The Duke also revealed that he and Prince William had asked her father not to marry Camilla, saying that he believed the potential marriage would "cause more harm than good" and preferred just a relationship between the pair.

In his memoir Spare, he wrote: "Just please don’t marry her, just be together, Pa."

Harry's interview with CBS aired just hours after his chat with ITV's Tom Bradby where he discussed further on his fallout with the Royal Family as well as Camilla's campaign for the Crown, Harry claimed.

Speaking with Bradby, he said: "Shortly after our private summits with her, she began to play the long game. A campaign aimed at marriage, and eventually the Crown, with Pa's blessing we presumed."

Harry then went on to speak about a private conversation between Camilla and William that ended up in the papers as he gave his thoughts on just how that occurred.

A voiceover of Harry said : "Stories began to appear everywhere in all the papers about her private conversation with Willie [Prince William], stories that contained pinpoint accurate details, none of which had come from Willie, of course.

"They could only have been leaked by the other one other person present."
