Two men killed overnight in metro-area homicides.

Two people died in homicides in the metro area overnight — one man was shot dead in Aurora and another man was fatally stabbed in Thornton.

The shooting happened in the area of Akron Street and East 14th Avenue, according to Aurora police. The victim died at the scene. Police did not release information on a suspect or a possible motive in the case.

In Thornton a man was stabbed in the 10100 block of Elizabeth Street, police said. The man was taken to a local hospital where he died. Police did not say whether there’s been an arrest in the case. No initial suspect information was released.

Investigations are ongoing.
