Paedophile Jeffrey Epstein had denied that he was suicidal, but said he “feared for his safety” according to a recently-published report from the US Federal Bureau of Prisons [BOP].

The disgraced financier was terrified of other inmates who were members of the notorious MS-13 gang, the 2,000-page report revealed. He also complained that he couldn’t sleep because his cellmate was so noisy, and suffered from severe constipation in his final days.

The "Psychological Reconstruction of Inmate Death" report prepared by the Bureau of Prisons National Suicide Prevention Coordinator traces a timeline of the events that led up to Epstein's death.

The psychologist’s report noted that Epstein had no real family or friends, and “his identity appeared to be based on his wealth, power, and association with other high-profile individuals”.

On July 8 2019, two days after arriving at New York’s Metropolitan Correctional Centre, Epstein denied being suicidal to prison officers but was nevertheless placed on Psychological Observation, which is a more relaxed form of monitoring than a full Suicide Watch.

On July 23, prison officials upgraded Epstein’s monitoring to a Suicide Watch, but relaxed the restrictions the following day.

The BOP report said that "Epstein was experiencing challenges adjusting to his environment and changes in his lifestyle” – specifically that he was trouble sleeping, had trouble dealing with the constant noise in the prison and felt unsafe around other inmates.

Epstein "spent his nights pacing his cell, sleeping fitfully and talking with other inmates, according to handwritten notes taken by those observing him," the report states.

The report also notes that prison officers’ record keeping was extremely slipshod, with “a number of incomplete entries" in records of Epstein’s access to food, showers and exercise facilities.

Mysteriously, the BOP report also says that on the day before he died, Epstein broke off a visit from his lawyer in order to “call his mother”.

But records show that Pauline Epstein died in April 2004.

Epstein was found dead in his cell at New York City's Metropolitan Correctional Center on August 10, 2019. A medical examiner ruled the sex offender’s death a suicide by hanging.
