Prince Harry and Meghan Markle about to become ‘very busy’ claims royal expert

2 min read

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have quit royal duties last year for a new life in California, but according to royal author Omid Scobie, they have a "very busy period" coming up and could be more visible on the public stage than ever.

He said: "We saw them jump from one big project to the next especially when they moved over to the US but they're on parental leave at the moment, enjoying that important family time from home."

But that will soon be over, he says, and then they’ll be busier than ever.

"We are about to enter a very busy period for the couple when they do return to work," he says.

"We will see those first projects from Spotify, the Netflix project coming out and of course their own work from their charitable organisation Archewell," Scobie added.

The couple never wanted to become invisible, he says, they just wanted to control which parts of their lives were public and which would remain private.

He told Good Morning America: "It's not that they want to disappear or not be seen.

"It's simply that they want to choose what they keep private and what they share with the world."

He added that "when we speak to sources close to the couple and also sources close to the Royal Family, there is this feeling that very little progress is being made," when it came to repairing the rift between Harry and his family.

Scobie claimed that negative stories about the couple, in particular allegations of bullying from within Kensington Palace, were "some sort of revenge from the [royal family] that we saw pulled into action just before the Oprah interview came out".

After Finding Freedom, the book he wrote with fellow royal author Carolyn Durand, was published earlier this year Scobie was seen as very close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

However, lawyers acting for Harry and Meghan have described the book as "unauthorised", and stressed that the authors "do not speak for our clients and seem to rely on unnamed sources".
