A grandad stabbed his daughter's ex-boyfriend 20 times in a "frenzied" knife attack, amid a battle over the kids.
Lance Woollard, 65, used two knives to murder Nigel Ebbage, 35, at his home in Cambridge and left his body at the foot of the stairs on April 29.
Mr Ebbage's partner came home around noon for lunch and made the horrifying discovery before calling the police.
Woollard was jailed on Friday, July 30 at Cambridge Crown Court after pleading guilty to the crime last month.
He was arrested around 1.30pm whilst he was driving on the day of the murder.
Forensics found this his hands and the steering wheel had blood on them and later searches found that one of his fingertips was sliced off at the scene of the crime.
Detective Inspector Dale Mepstead said: “Lance Woollard knew Nigel was going to be working alone from home that day and he visited with the intention of murdering him.
“It was a frenzied attack and while Nigel tried to defend himself, the wounds he received to the chest were tragically fatal.
“Nigel’s loss has had a devastating effect on those who knew and loved him and, while nothing will ever heal that grief, I hope the result today will give them some comfort, knowing that justice has been done.

The court heard that in the aftermath of Ebbage's split from his ex, there was a fire at her home. Ebbage was arrested and charged for the crime in June 2018 but was acquitted of arson in 2019.
The court allowed him to have contact with his children and a court order was created to prevent Woollard from being present at the handovers.
When the murder took place, a court hearing was due to look at the future arrangements involving the children and parents.
Woollard refused to answer a single question after his arrest but pleaded guilty on June 29.
