A 13-year-old boy died in his sleep three days after his second Covid-19 jab.
Jacob Clynick from Zilwaukee, Michigan, US, was thought to be a "healthy" teenager when he received his second dose of the Pfizer vaccine on June 13.
Yet two days after the jab he began to feel fatigued, fever, and then a stomach ache before his death – the cause of which was not listed on his death certificate.
An investigation into the tragedy could take up to five months, according to Randy Pfau, of the Michigan Institute of Forensic Science and Medicine.
Jacob's aunt, Tammy Burages, told the Detroit Free Press: "He passed away in the middle of the night at home.
"This is one of those things that I suspect they’re never going to really be able to say, 'Oh it was shot' or 'It wasn’t shot'.
"There must be something that makes certain kids more susceptible to having a serious heart reaction, and I think Jacob was one of those kids.
"So whatever that serious thing was, whatever the underlying health issue was, is something maybe that the autopsy will tell us."
Ms Burages paid tribute to Jacob's "corny" humour and how he acted as a role model for some of his peers.
Teacher headbutted boy and told him to 'shut the f*** up' as he sang on street with pal
She continued: "The other kids at school looked up to him and voted him 'Most likely to become president of the United States' this last school year.
"He loved to tell corny dad jokes and always had plenty of them to hand out. He found the funny side of every situation and the world will be a little less fun without him in it."
The Sun reports that scientists are becoming "more confident" that heart inflammation conditions are connected to the Pfizer and Moderna jabs.
According to research in the United States, 1.2 people in 100,000 are at risk of heart conditions myocarditis, and pericarditis following the vaccines.

The odds are higher for younger people and males after the second dose compared to the first, The Sun reports.
However, experts say the benefits far outweigh the potential risks and US President Joe Biden has even described getting the coronavirus vaccine as the "most patriotic thing you can do".
Deaths caused by Covid-19 in America last month totalled 100,000.
Biden's 80-year-old coronavirus chief Dr. Anthony Fauci told NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday: "If you look at the number of deaths, about 99.2 percent of them are unvaccinated about 0.8 percent are vaccinated.
"No vaccine is perfect, but when you talk about the avoidability of hospitalisation and deaths, it's really sad and tragic that most all of these are avoidable and preventable."
Fauci also told Americans that full vaccination is more effective than wearing a mask to combat the highly contagious Delta variant.
Dr. Fauci said: "You have a broad recommendation for the country as a whole that, if you are vaccinated, you have a high degree of protection, so you need not wear a mask indoor or outdoor."
The Daily Star has contacted Pfizer for a comment.
