Dating apps in Cornwall flooded with US aides getting ‘horny in Corny’ for G7

Dating apps in Cornwall have reportedly been flooded with new US profiles – with aides at the G7 summit "single and ready to mingle".

US President Joe Biden and other world leaders touched down in the seaside resort of Carbis Bay on Thursday, June 10, for the event.

It marked the first meeting between Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Biden.

However, Biden’s aides appear to have more pressing matters on their minds.

Galdemzine political editor Moya Lothian-Mclean tweeted: “A little bird just told me that Cornwall's dating apps has received an influx of new US profiles, thanks to the G7… Joe Biden's aides are single and ready to mingle!”

She added: “Or they're not single but they're still mingling! Either way: they're horny in Corny.”

One user responded: “They should check up on the foreign spouse visa rules before getting too excited.”

Another said: “Just sent this intel to my sister who lives down there.”

During the summit, leaders from the world’s richest countries – Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK, and the US – will discuss global issues and economic policies.

However, people living in the nearby town of St Ives have mixed feelings towards the arrival of the nation's leaders.

Andrea Hodgson, 78, said it was "pretty awful" the G7 is being held in Cornwall this year.

Mrs Hodgson told the PA news agency: "It's totally inappropriate, it's not climate-friendly, it's a total waste of money.

“They've closed our hospital, they've closed our police station and they are wasting millions and millions of pounds for international people to have a party.

"It could all be done online. I'm really angry about it – the number of people that are coming down all through lockdown. We've been locked away here so we can't even go outside of our front door."

She added: "The people are being marginalised here – and the G7 is making it worse."

Other residents in the town showed their displeasure at the major world event happening on their doorstep.

One sign, hung on the side of a shop, read: "G7, what have you done today to make you feel proud?"

Some local businesses have also closed deliberately for the event.
