China has been openly practicing invading Taiwan, a country with a population of just 25 million people. A former Major General in the Australian army, and Liberal Senator, Jim Molan also told Sky News Australia that the American military machine will be prepared for every eventuality.
Peter Jennings from the Australian Strategic Policy Institute stated that China will look to send a message to Taiwan in the coming weeks.
He said regarding the political uncertainty in the US: “I think this gives the Chinese Communist Party’s leader an opportunity to see how far he can push his luck.
“I fully expect we will see some crisis along the Taiwan straights in the next few weeks.
“Which is all about China saying to Taiwan, we are your longer-term ruler.”
