Legendary French fashion designer Pierre Cardin has died at 98 years old.
France's Fine Arts Academy announced the icon's death on Twitter on Tuesday.
Mr Cardin was famous for his avant-garde style and his futuristic Space Age designs.
He was also known for overhauling the fashion industry by successfully licensing his brand name and making savvy business moves, such as displaying the Cardin logo on his clothing.
His experimental designs included geometric shapes and motifs, and he went on to create unisex fashion looks.
He was born in Italy in 1922 but was educated in France. He worked in the Red Cross during World War II before going on to found his own fashion house in 1950.
One of his notable creations was the "bubble dress", designed in 1954.
