Brits are "not interested" in Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's new Spotify podcast, a YouGov Poll suggests.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their exclusive new deal with the audio giant earlier on this month.

It is understood the couple, who also signed a deal with Netflix, will be releasing a special Christmas episode as a teaser ahead of a January release.

Despite the new announcement, 89% Brits are "not interested" in the new venture, a YouGov poll has discovered.

According to the poll, 77% of people surveyed said they're "not interested at all" whereas 12% said they're "not very interested."

A further 4% of people admitted they didn’t know, with just 5% saying they’re "fairly interested" and 2% choosing the "very interested" category.

The poll was conducted on December 17 2020, with over 5,700 adults from the United Kingdom surveyed, YouGov claim.

The polling will come as a blow to Meghan and Harry who said they "love" podcasting as it enables people to "take a moment and really listen… without connection."

In a joint statement, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said: "What we love about podcasting is that it reminds all of us to take a moment and to really listen, to connect to one another without distraction.

"With the challenges of 2020, there has never been a more important time to do so, because when we hear each other, and hear each other's stories, we are reminded of how interconnected we all are."

It is also feared the couple could put themselves in danger of breaking Royal protocol with their Spotify podcast deal.

Concerns have also been raised about their Netflix deal, with royal insiders said to be nervous about the deal, the Sunday Times claims.

The deal is reportedly worth £75m, and Harry and Meghan may be expected to produce a "royal revelation", according to the newspaper.

This could prove the "stuff of nightmares" for royal officials in London.
