A train driver pulling into a station in Dublin was shocked to find her boyfriend getting down on one knee on the platform, while delighted bystanders gathered to watch.

Paula Carbó Zea, who drives for Irish Rail, waves through the window as she pulls into Pearse Station.

The camera pans around to show a huge board with "will you marry me?" written on it and Paula's boyfriend is waiting right next to it with a huge bouquet of flowers.

As Paula walks towards him, the brave lad gets straight down on one knee to pop the fateful question with the engagement ring in hand.

The footage was recorded by bystander Clodagh Maher who said witnessing the unexpected romantic moment had "perked her up" after a long shift at work.

She uploaded it on Twitter yesterday, December 15, and it has been watched more than 200,000 times.

Paula said "yes" to her boyfriend and thanked Clodagh for recording the special moment.

She tweeted: "Thanks so much for sharing this moment.
