An Aurora teenager has been arrested as a suspect in the shooting of an 11-year-old boy, according to police.
At about 1:30 a.m. on August 19 officers responded to the 16200 block of East 17th Place on a report of an “accidental shooting,” according to a news release.
Officers found the 11-year-old suffering from a gun shot wound. He was taken to a local hospital but later died of his injuries, police said.
On Monday, police arrested an 18-year-old as a suspect in the shooting. The suspect, who was age 17 at the time of the incident, is being investigated for manslaughter, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, tampering with evidence, and possession of a handgun by a juvenile, police said.
